Pokémon Center ETB vs Regular ETB: What's Different and Which Case Fits

A Pokémon Center ETB is the version of an Elite Trainer Box sold through the official Pokémon Center. Compared with the regular ETB, it has additional contents and a slightly different box design (Bulbapedia). For Scarlet & Violet: Journey Together, that meant 11 booster packs instead of 9 and two full-art promo cards instead of one, with the same sleeves and Energy cards. If you collect both versions, the Slab Bunker ETB Acrylic Case is listed to fit both.

What is a Pokémon Center ETB?

An Elite Trainer Box (ETB) is a Pokémon TCG product built around one expansion. It combines booster packs, play accessories like card sleeves, Energy cards and dice, and a box to store everything (pokemon.com). The Pokémon Center ETB is the edition sold through the official Pokémon Center, with a slightly different box design and additional contents (Bulbapedia).

Pokémon Center ETB vs regular ETB: contents

Here is how the two compare for Scarlet & Violet: Journey Together, per The Pokémon Company's product pages for the regular ETB and the Pokémon Center ETB:

So the difference is two extra booster packs and one extra promo. Everything else in the box matched for this set.

Contents change by set and era. The Sword & Shield: Silver Tempest ETB, for example, came with eight booster packs (pokemon.com). Check the official product page for your set.

Box design and size

Pokémon Center ETBs use a slightly different box design from regular ETBs (Bulbapedia). We could not find official outer dimensions for either box from The Pokémon Company. If you own an ETB from an older era, measure it and compare it with the case listing before you buy.

Which ETB acrylic case fits?

The Slab Bunker ETB Acrylic Case (SB-101) is sized for current-era Pokémon Elite Trainer Boxes and fit-tested with both standard ETBs and the Pokémon Center ETB, per its Amazon listing. It has:

  • A clear acrylic body
  • A magnetic lid with N52 magnets that holds when the case is turned upside down
  • A flat top, so cases stack
  • A fit that lets the box slide in without snagging the shrink wrap
  • A microfiber cleaning cloth and anti-slip pads in the box

Collecting sealed booster bundles or One Piece booster boxes instead? Use the Booster Bundle Case 2-Pack or the One Piece Booster Box Case (English OP-04 and later). The ETB case is not sized for those.
